At Escapeium Limited, we take our customers data protection seriously, and we are committed to guarding your personal details carefully.

Our Privacy Policy details what happens to any personal data that you give to us, or that we collect from you whilst you visit our site, and in booking an experience.

This Policy may be updated from time to time so we would advise customers with an interest to review regularly.

What information do we collect?

In normal day to day business operations we may collect and process from our website the following data about you:

  • Information about your use of our site including details of your visits such as pages viewed and the resources that you access. Such information includes traffic data, location data and other communication data.
  • Information voluntarily provided by you, for example when you subscribe to a newsletter, complete a contact form, or make an order.
  • Information that you provide when you communicate with us by any means, for example face to face, by email, Facebook, Whatsapp or any other electronic messaging, or by phone call.
  • Such information includes name, address, phone number and email address.

We collect this information from you or from the lead booking on your behalf and do not collect personal information from any other source.

How do we use personal information?

We use the information that we collect from you in order to provide our services to you, and to personalise and improve your experience. Our activities include the follwing:

  • To take online payments from you using PayPal. Paypal has its own privacy notice which can be viewed by clicking here.
  • To provide information to you that you request from us relating to our products or services and/or during the game play. This includes emails and SMS messages to the email address and mobile phone numbers provided.
  • From time to time we may provide marketing events and communications to you relating to other products that may be of interest to you. Such additional information will only be provided where you have given consent to receive it. If you have previously purchased goods or services from us we may provide to you details of similar goods or services, such as new Online Escape Room Games, that we think you may be interested in.

  • To inform you of any changes to our trading address, website, services or goods and products.

What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?

  • Taking online card payments from you is a contractual necessity for our business.
  • Providing information that you request from us relating to our products or services, including email and SMS messages to the email address and mobile phone number for the lead booking to confirm and remind you of your order is done with your consent. Individuals can withdraw and manage their consent.
  • We believe that it is in our legitimate interests to keep you informed of similar goods and services that we think are of interest to you. We do not think that the frequency or content of the information we send to you will harm your data security or privacy rights and you will always have a clear and easy to follow option to unsubscribe from further messages.
  • We have legitimate interests in communicating with you of any changes to our trading address, website, services or goods and products.

Disclosing Your Information

We will treat personal data confidentially, and will not disclose or share your personal information to any other party other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We may pass on personal information in one of the circumstances detailed below:

  • In the event that we sell any or all of our business then we may pass on personal information to the buyer.
  • Where we are legally required by law to disclose your personal information.
  • To further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud.

Storing your Information

We store your information carefully and securely. Personal data such as name, address, email and phone number are stored securely within our marketing partner, Amazon Web Services (AWS) secure storage infrastructure. We use MFA/2FA along with secure passwords to limit access to your data. Access is limited solely to Escapeium Limited directors. Information pertaining to debit/credit card transactions are stored securely within PayPal. We only obtain, use and retain personal information that is relevant to and not excessive for the purpose that we require it.

Your rights in relation to personal data

We acknowledge your rights to access and control your personal information, correction and deletion of your information, and your right to withdraw consent. In line with the GDPR, you have the right to access, delete or modify any information that we hold relating to you. Should you request your information to be deleted, we will do so within 30 days, and we will in any case delete it when we no longer have a need to retain it which will be no longer than 10 years after we last had any contact with you.

Any request to delete personal information can made no sooner that 60 days after your experience with Escapeium Limited has taken place. Data subject rights may be limited in the event that doing so would expose personal detail of other persons, or if we are asked to delete data that we are required to keep by law.
